Discovery Day 2013 Events Schedule

KIDS Discovery Center- Environmental Education Room

10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Come join the Long Island Aquarium, NY Department of Conservation (NYSDEC) and Brookhaven National Lab (BNL) for a whole day of fun hands on learning.  Experience texture touching, use microscopes to look at soil particle size, play with animal footprint stamps and create animal tracks.  Enjoy hands on, interactive time with specimens, artifacts and crafts!

The NYSDEC Environmental Education staff is offering environmentally-themed crafts throughout the day for children in PK to 6th grade (or those young at heart).  In addition, we will have artifacts from NYS mammals on display, with presentations on Wildlife Forensics periodically throughout the day.  The Long Island Aquarium will have its touch tank available for hands on learning, as well as Brookhaven National Lab with fun science projects!
